It is a deposit of fat beneath your skin, cysts can be malignant or benign but most fatty cysts are benign. It can be removed by a doctor but is in most cases harmless.

Any abnormal growth on the skin should be diagnosed with any other accompanying symptoms. It could be just a benign growth or could be a tumor or cancer.

A 'Fatty" cyst on the arm could be due to a hair follicle that gets filled with fatty white, semi-solid material called 'sebum'.

This is related with cytology. The cyst occurs when there is block in the cutaneous layer of the skin and prevent secretion in the upper layer of the skin. It may lead to malignant tumor. Mostly kidney, liver and breast are affected when populated with cyst.
