A power of attorney is an instrument where in someone authorizes another individual to sign on his/her behalf in relative matters. A durable power of attorney remains valid and extends the power to the authorized individual if/when the party become ill or incompetent and unable to participate in such matters.

In this document, you appoint your attorney-in-fact (your Representative) to act on your behalf in the event you become incompetent or incapacitated. This document can be revoked and/or rescinded during one's competency.

This is a written agreement by which one individual authorizes another, in a business venue, to act as their representative. There is a great deal more, but this is the nuts and bolts. Please research further before enacting or interpreting this particular legal covenant.

A durable power of attorney is a document that allows another person to act on your behalf for a specific purpose or whatever is stated in the POA. The difference between a regular power of attorney and a durable power of attorney is that the durable power of attorney can last through any temporary or permanent incapacitation.
