What is a cure for folliculitis?

I've not seen a doctor, but I've read enough on the Internet to know what it is.

Folliculitis, an infection of the hair follicles, often clears up on its own within 2-5 days. To speed the healing you can apply warm compresses to the scalp (or soak in a warm bath) several times a day. Add warm salt water to the compresses once a day. Apply hydrocortisone for itching after washing your head with an antibacterial soap.

To soothe the pain apply warm compresses to the infected area. Combine this technique with washing the area with a antibacterial soap to stop the spread or worsening of the condition.

If the case of folliculitis is mild, it will clear up on its own in a few days, make sure you clean the areas with soap a couple times a day, if the case is more severe and is not going away, then you will need to see a dermatologist and get a prescription.

Oral and topical antibiotics are the most common treatment for folliculitis. Folliculitis also usually causes places that have to be opened and drained so these areas need to stay clean so that the risk of infection is decreased.
