Its really not that big of a deal, but you should take care of it quickly. Your local drug store (chemist) will have treatments that work quite well. You have to be vigilant about using the treatments, and the problem should subside relatively quickly. No, having lice doesn't hurt.

it doesnt hurt once you get it. It depends on how long you leave it there for, if you dont take care of it and leave it there it will itch really badly which will then iratate you and hurt you a bit.

An adult lays eggs on your hair strand very close to the scalp. The egg sacs are called nits. in 7 days the nits hatch. It takes another 7 days for those to become adult lice and then they start laying eggs.

Head lice are nasty. I do not believe that they hurt, but they do cause quite a problem. In order to eliminate them, you have to pick them from the scalp every day. You also have to thoroughly clean all shared pillows, blankets, bedding, etc. So be safe, do not share combs, hair accessories, or pillows. Be safe!

Your local pharmacy will have several solutions for lice - if you follow the directions closely, the problem will be solved.

What happens when someone gets head lice varies from person to person. If it is a child in particular it can hurt in a variety of ways. Physically, they will have an itchy scalp; itchiness classifies as pain, I think. Emotionally, bullies at school will say they have cooties. And then they will beat them up.
