I have a great bottle of Cabernet that I want to serve at a dinner party.
Cabernets are "big" red wines, which hold up well with a good piece of red meat. A steak or even lamb would be best.
Since it is a full bodied wine, it would go best with something like steak or a red meat. I would not advise pairing it with light chicken or fish dinners (whites are best for that). Also, if you do appetizers, strong flavored cheeses go best.
Spicy, tomato based foods would go well, such as spaghetti or enchilladas. Also, grilled beef or venison, or any sort of sausages, would be delicious.
Cabernet wine goes well with white meats and chicken. Duck and goose are also good choices of food to go with Cabernet.
