Holidays common throughout Europe include Labour Day on 1 May and Boxing Day on 26 December. Great Britain has two bank holidays on the last Monday in May (the same time as Memorial Day in the US), and a late summer bank holiday on the last Monday in August. Days celebrating various saints are also common.

Although they may vary country to country, Europe does consist of many and various nations and cultures, there are common holiday themes on that continent. Most recognizable is the celebration of Dec. 26th. Additionally May 1st is widely celebrated as labor day to honor workers an act ignored and decried in the USA as some Communist plot.
