What does animal rights people thinking about hunting?

I know there are mixed views concerning hunting, I would like to understand what animal rights activist feel about it.

I would assume that they don't like it because it involves killing animals. They believe that animal life should be respected and treated like human life.

Many believe it's cruel and inhumane. It can destroy animal families and disrupt the population. Many animals also suffer if they are not killed right away.

Animal rights activists feel it is a cruel pastime and morally objectionable. If not hunted correctly, i. e. missed shot, traps etc the animal can suffer for days before dying. They also note the number of human fatalities incurred during hunting season.
