This test screens for infections, kidney function or failure and electrolyte imbalances. Infections are determined with a urine culture. Urinalysis will evaluate function and electrolyte balance.

Kidney function test measures the level of electrolytes in your body including urea, creatinine, sodium, potassium and chloride. It will become deranged if you have kidney disease for example acute or chronic renal failure.

It doesn't screen for any specific diseases, it just measures the overall functionality of your renal system by measuring levels of electrolytes and metabolites that your body excretes in urine. A "failing" grade only indicates that something is wrong, not what is wrong. Further tests would be required for that.
