What do you think of people who put their children in beauty pageants?

It depends on the situation of the child. It's not necessarily a bad thing to let a girl know from a young age that she is pretty, talented, and loved. However, parents must be sure that the child knows that worthiness is not dependent on their competing.

I think there is no problem with it if it is something the child enjoys doing. If the child is forced to do it, this is when it becomes a bad thing. Anybody forcing a child to commit to a hobby is a poor parent.

I think it depends on evrybody's attitude towards the pageants. I think they could be fun but I wouldn't force a child to enter.

It doesn't matter so much that the parents want their kids to compete, but more so about how the parent reacts to the child if they win or loose, and how the kid reacts to the others. There is potential for positive and negative long-term self confidence affects.

I think they're crazy and it gives the children a false sense of beauty and the parents should be ashamed.
