Jumilla is a region in southern Spain that produces wines from a grape called Monastrell. The wines are fairly "big", i.e., lots of tannins and structure. I personally enjoy wine from Jumilla quite a bit. Mostly because I find it be a great value. The wine is generally inexpensive--$10 to $15 in my area; and they are generally very good.

It is rated rather well by the wine writing establishment. Made from Monastrell grapes it is a dark, rich, jammy wine with cedar and charcoal notes. What I like about this wine is the hint of herbality it shows during the finnish. At less than ten dollars at my local retailer it is quite a good value.
