Make sure that the floor will drain properly when tiled, you don't want a perfectly flat floor. Tiles that work well with water will be labeled as such. Large tiles are more difficult to fit, but easier to grout. Small tiles offer more flexibility, but are more difficult to set and grout properly.

Call plumber and / or civil engineer for the work. Check all the possibilities. Waterproofing is a must. Select good quality of shower material like pipes, mixers, showers, geysers. Connections must be 100% leakage free.

You could use anything in the shower, make sure you use the proper adhesive. Any ceramic tile can be installed. Pick something that you like, but I'd recommend a pro.
