The term "walk on" simply refers to players who don't have scholorships, but get on the team by attending open tryouts and making it.

The first thing to do is to reach out to the coach or athletic director of the program you are trying to attend. If they are at all interested, they will give you the information about where to be and what date to try out for the team.

One way to do it would be to join the team's practice squad or scout team and impress in that role.
