The first treatment is physical therapy and weight loss. This will help to reduce pressure on the pinched nerves and they often improve with time. If they don't then there are a number of surgical options. l

Physical therapy can help alot for pinched nerves because the spine can be manipulated and also can help prevent the return of a pinched nerve. Surgery might have to be performed in more severe cases where there is much pressure on the nerve and other less invasive methods have not worked.

Treatment of a pinched nerve in the spine can sometimes be treated by antiinflammatory drugs , and treatments that allow for more room between the vertabrea which is applying pressure to the nerve. Surgery , and cortosine shots can also be used to treat this pain , but antiinflmmatory drugs should be first option.

Pinched nerves need to be iced and given an anti-imflammatory medication. Therapy will help untrap the nerves but short term stabilizing involves straightening the spine as much a possible. Anxiety make the pain worse and this can be adressed with medication or calming audio tapes. This is a problem that responds best with help from another person.

There are several ways to treat pinch spinal nerves. Alternating applying heat and cold in the affected area is usually a good initial treatment. Taking a hot shower is another thing to do. Getting a massage is another way to treat it.

You should not do anything on your own for pinched nerves in the spine. The doctor would prescribe a collar which you should wear for a longer period
