I would buy some A&D ointment. You can find it by the diaper creams. Wash your tattoo 3 times a day with antibacterial soap. After massage a good amount of the A&D into your tattoo. Some flaking is a natural part of the healing process.

If you just got the tattoo done, don't touch it. Wash your hands every time you absolutely have to touch it, and try applying a skin repairing or moisturizing lotion. If it is a sunburn, try aloe vera.

Shortly after you first get a new tattoo it tends to scab over and flake. It may turn red. If you keep putting lotion on the tattoo it be fine.

It's flaking because it's healing. You need to keep it moisturized and DO NOT scratch it or your tattoo will loose some of it's color.
