Methadone clinics provide medicine to drug users trying to become clean. Methadone prevents the serious withdrawal symptoms when coming off an illicit drug. You have to go every single day to get your dose. There are other requirements you have to fulfill there (urine drug tests, counseling, physicals, etc.)
