Start with twigs and work your way up gradually. Get all the different sizes of sticks ready beforehand, so you can add them when you need them. Build a tepee of twigs over some leaves, light, and gradually add bigger sticks as it burns down, till you reach log-size.

You will need kindling. Twigs and small, dry branches will help. Get some rolled up newspapers as well. Use the kindling and newspapers to get a fire going. You may use gasoline but be very careful. Then you'll need some logs to make sure you a long-burning fire.

A lot of wood or some other material to burn. A safe cleared spot to have the fire. Make sure it is away from other matierals that could catch fire and cause your bonfire to get out of control. A good, close source of water. Friends, chairs, and drinks.

You will need a place to have your fire. A fire ring will work best. Next you'll need some dry split logs. You will also need some dry kindeling, or dry grass. You will also need a bood of matches.

First, you need good dry wood with light fluid. Also you need places for people to sit, arranged so the fire doesn't get in their eyes. Marsh mellows and Graham crackers too!
