If you spot the dreaded black mold in your bathroom make sure that you use a bathroom cleaner that is for mold and mildew. It usually contains bleach in it that will kill off the mold.

First, find leak that is causing your mold growth; once fixed, with spraybottle apply amonia and walk away from fumes... repeat this to make sure it kills it; then scrub off with bleach or clorox & softscrub, with nylon brush until the black stain (dead mold) is off and recaulk.

You should get someone in to inspect the area and find out the cause of the mold. In order to clean the mold, spray white vinegar on the area. Let it sit, and then wipe away with hot water. Repeat if necessary.

If it's really black mold, you should call a specialist, as it's highly toxic. However, it's more likely to be mildew, which cleans well with 10-15 percent bleach/water mixture.

Based on the surface type (e.g. is it tile or wall-board?) and the amount of mold, go to a home improvement store and choose an appropriate cleaning product. If scrubbing does not remove the mold, it might be necessary to tear out the entire area of affected wall-board/tile.

You need to kill it with a disinfectant like Lysol. Try to seal off the bathroom, though, because mold can travel in spores that you can't see.
