You have a leak. Find the leak, fix it, and bleed the brakes. I recommend you have your Ford dealer do this work unless you're an experienced mechanic.

Check the brake fluid level, quite often when the calipers are depressed the cap can pop off and brake fluid will leak out or damage the brake master cylinder.

If you have a soft pedal then either you have a leak or more likely, air in the system. Try re-bleeding system. Make sure all the air gets out.

This is a fairly broad question becomes there are many different models of your type of car. I would either consult a mechanic personally, or refer to your user manual. You can either completely replace the brake pedal, or get a "prop kit" to try to re-elevate it and prevent further sinking.
