The engine size determines the amount of power a car may have. For some cars the more power it has the more fuel it will need to be operational.

A car's engine size changes many things about the way a car performs. If you have a car with a 4 cylinder motor, you would have far less power than a person with an 8 cylinder motor. It will also change the HP, Gas Mileage, and torque.

More displacement the engine has the more powerful it typically is. Before the days of turbo and supercharged four cylinders displacement ruled. When you hear about performance vehicles and trucks it is common for manufacturer to stress displacement. They try to emphasize the larger displacement as a sign or performance and power potential. Bigger displacement can also mean poor economy.
