Victorian children played a range of different games and with toys. Common games might include playing with toy soldiers, or with biblical toys such as a Noahs Ark (the only toys that could be played on a Sunday). However, for many Victorian children there was little time for fun, as poverty forced them into long working hours.

They read books. They attended plays, played music, and visited with friends. However, compared to the modern era, they had far less free time and were required to do far more physical labor.

Victorian children had to use their imagination more than "modern" children in order to have fun. Bicycles, marbles, rolling a hoop down the street and swinging were just a few.
