This is a common sign of a failing security system. Especially if the car refuses to start from time to time. You should have a dealer diagnose the issue. Chances are some components will need replacing.

If the light is constantly on then you probably have an issue within the system. You should take it to a Chevrolet dealer have have them look at it.

There could be something wrong with your anti-theft system that is built into the car. Try taking it to Auto Zone and having them do a free diagnostics on it and see if it gives a code or not. If that doesn't work, take it to the dealership to see how much it will cost to fix.

It means there is a problem in your security system. Many people have complain about this where the ignition electronic sometime mess up and shut down certain parts of the car. Usually it require replacement or reprogramming of the system. Or part of the security system may be bypassed or remove in some cases.

This probably means the key is losing it's programming. It will have to be reset by the dealer. This is all psrt of the passlock / security system of the vehicle.
