You could have a torn muscle, or a damaged ligament in your leg. In rare cases, it could be caused by a tumor in your leg. I recommend that you see your doctor.

If you feel a knot in your leg it could be a tense muscle. It could also be an inflamed or torn ligament or tendon.

A soft tissue know in your leg could come from many sources. A muscle knot is from the muscle not relaxing. It could stem from scar tissue from a previous injury, a cramp, a damaged ligament or tendon or a muscle sprain. It could also be a tumor. Try massage and warm compresses. If that doesn't help, see a doctor.

It could be scar tissue from a previous injury, a ganglion cyst, or a type of benign tumor such as a lipoma.

Lipoma, or the begging of a tumor made up of fat cells commonly cause soft tissue knots in areas such as the leg.
