What could be wrong if my dog if he is listless and not urinating?

It could be that he has an obstruction that is making it impoossible for him to urinate. If this is the case, it would be an emergency because without relief his bladder could burst. He could also have some sort of infection that needs to be treated with antibiotics. Take him to the vet to be sure.

The dog could have a urinary tract infection. Take the dog to the vet right away. Antibiotics may need to be administered to clear out the infection.

There is quite a possibility that the dog has a UTI. The dog might also have a gall stone. My suggestion would be to take him to the vet.

A dog who does not urinate as should could have serious bladder problems. More common in females then males. There should be ample water readily available to your dog. Drinking clears bacteria from the system. Bladder infections is easy to diagnose. If left untreated kidney damage could happen.
