What could be the cause of a gasoline smell from a Chevy van parked in the garage? Could it be a blocked fuel filter pump?

It may be a slow leak even though there is no signs that are very visible. the steel gas lines rust and seep gas. you could try changing the fuel filter which if clogged can cause a back up and it can leak from there

Leak in gas tank where filler neck goes into tank. reference nhtsa recall # 07v349000. gm and local dealer has told me my vehicle does not qualify for recall because my van is long wheelbase and recall is for short wheelbase. the fracture in the tank is in the same location as from the recall for short wheelbase chevrolet ventures.

A fuel smell can be caused by a fuel leak in the syatem. Or A leak in the vehicles evaporative system. Checked for dry rotted/broken lines at the tank.

A fuel smell could come from anything such as a loose/missing fuel cap, rusted, moist-leaking [i.e., no puddles on the floor] fuel lines or a leaking fuel injector. A plugged fuel filter will not cause a smell. It would prevent fuel from moving.
