Most likely your computer has a heating issue, and your hardware is automatically shutting down to prevent damage from there being too much heat. (Check the fan! )

Your computer may have been attacked by a virus threat or may be your computer system is functioned by an other source through a LAN if your system is connected through LAN or your system may get shut down because of any spy ware so use any anti virus software to come rid of this problem.

What there really happens and when? Are you checked spyware and malwares on your computers including virues. Check also event log, e. g Start --> Control Panel --> System and maintenance --> Administrative tool --> Event viewer. That on Vista, what you found there. Look around.
