What can you tell me about Holy Spirit and addictions?

All I can say is that a lot of people turn to religion (including the Holy Spirit) to try and help them beat their addiction problems.

If you are "born again of the Holy Spirit", this would be contrary to any addictions you may have. It would "grieve the spirit".

I'm not quite sure what you are looking for, but perhaps you are asking about the connection of people becoming addicted to drugs and then becoming religious upon sobering up. This often happens when someone feels they have had a life or death experience. Also, with the amount of strength it takes to become sober, you feel closer to God.

The Holy Spirit is very active in the process of helping us overcome our past. Jesus said I have to go away so that I can send you the comforter. There are several good verses 2 Corinthians 5:17, 2 Corinthians 4:16, and Romans 12:1-2 just to name a few. You have to completely turn yourself over to the Holy Spirit.
