German Shepards are very common dogs, therefore they are predisposed to alot of health problems. Most commonly hip displaysia. There are very good natured dogs that do well in families, but because of they're strong bite force they need to begin training as early as possible.

German shepherds are also highly suseptible to Degenerative Myelopathy and a higher than normal incidence of Von Willebrand Disease. The life span of a german shepherd is 7-10 years.
