Run a virus scan on the server to repair it. The e-mail was likely pulled down to a client machine and should stull reside there.

If you can delete the email that would be the best way to get rid of it from the computer, otherwise you would need to get into the server to find a way to get rid of it and each server is different.

A system administrator or root user can go into the pop3 directory on the mail server and edit your inbox just like any other file, deleting the bad email and restoring the mailbox to normalcy.

POP 3 messages reside on an external email server. The first thing to do is ping the pop 3 mail server to see if it responds to you. You do this by using the command promt and typing ping and the server name. If it replies to you, open your email application and re enter your POP 3 info.

Upto my knowledge, there is no recovery for Pop3 server damage. It is much better to leave the damaged one as other IMAP and other servers are also at a risk of damage.

I would contact the pop3 server help people, so that they can retrieve for you. You can also log into the online version of email to try to get it that way. Otherwise there is nothing that you can do.
