What can you do about rebellious Christian teens?

My church has a group of us that is having a hard time with our usually good teens.

I'm 16 and agree 100% with 'jessyshmoshmessy'. I can relate to this situation, and having a specific religion pushed upon me is only detering me from it more. Religion is a personal choice.

Often times, religion is pushed on theses so-called Christian teens. Give your child a choice of going to church. It may be difficult to accept, but your child may not follow in the same religious foot steps as you. Many parents force the religion on their children, and the child pushes farther away.

It is very normal for teens to test the boundaries. The best thing to do is to provide them with safe activities that will prevent them from getting involved with the bad stuff. Have more youth group events, things that will keep them occupied and busy. Also getting them involved in volunteering is a good option.

All teenagers are rebellious, including Christian ones. You need to remain calm, firm, and consistent with them. Make sure that there are consequences for inappropriate behavior (for example, be willing to cancel events or trips). Never act angry in front of them, however, and keep in mind that rebelling is a normal part of a teenager's development.
