If your breath smells bad then I could be an infection or something something wrong in either your sinuses or stomach. If it won't go away then check with your doctor, until them try a salt water gargle that will kill off any bacteria in your mouth that might be causing it.

If your breath has any kind of strange smell it could indicate something is wrong. It is not necessarily something serious though. Best thing is to go to the doctor and find out for sure. It could indicate one of numerous things. It could be something is wrong in your mouth, stomach, or even elsewhere in your body.

Consider which foods you've eaten that may contribute to smelly breath. Next, examine the source: does your breath smell like mothballs to you or to someone else? If it smells like mothballs to you, then you may have bacteria in your nose that is affecting your sense of smell.

I would suggest using a mint-flavored toothpaste for a while. If that does not work, then I would consider maybe a cedar flavored mouth rinse to see if that would soak up the aroma of the mothball dilemma.

It is due to various reasons like tooth ache, gum infection, Pharynchitis(a throat disease) or even tumer in the intestine. Other than the tumer, you can inspect yourself. If it is a problem in the intestine, you require the help of a Gastro enterologist. Avoid taking spicy food if it is due to tumer in the intestine.
