what to do

Question by  Trinost (23)

What can I do if my Briggs and Stratton engine won't start?

Answer by  NateB (571)

Here's your checklist. Check for fuel, check the battery, check the oil, check the plugs, and check the fuel and air filters. If all those are fine then you have a bigger problem, such as plug wires, bad starter, broken tie rods, clogged fuel lines, or many other possibilities that require fixing.

First thing to check is the spark plug. Remove the spark plug and make sure it is not wet on the end.

You should always start at the source of fuel and the source of spark, then see that the pull cord is doing everything it needs to be doing, the float needs to be operational as well.

You could just give up cutting the grass and sit down for a nice drink of lemonade. Give the lawnmower company a call.
