Try applying a compress (warm washcloth) on the pimple to reduce inflammation. The warmth will help draw the pimple to a head, so you can release the pressure (a. k. a. pop the zit) by pressing gently on each side with a tissue over your fingers. Apply tea tree oil for faster healing. See your dermatologist if problems persist.

Tea tree oil is like hydrogen peroxide - it cleans the area and destroys bacteria, but it does not promote healing and should not be used on open wounds.  add a comment

One of the remedies that I have found works good for a painful pimple that has not come to a head yet is to put a hot water compress on it. This will help bring the pimple to a head faster. Once the pimple has formed a head and the puss comes out it will clear up faster.

First, if it has a head, pop it. Then wash the area thoroughly. If there is not a head, it could be a boil, an infection that has begun to grow deeper. That may require treatment by a doctor, including lancing it or draining it. It may also be a sign of a more serious infection.

Try to put some rubbing alcohol on it. That may dry it out. Another way to do it is to just get past the pain and pop it with your nails. You know its fully popped when no more puss comes out, and a tiny bit of blood comes out.

Do not squeeze it by any means, that will only make it more painful, apply some witch hazel and let nature take it's course.
