You must replace the bushing and seal. You will find the bushing behind the rubber seal. The bushing is what stops the leak, not the rubber seal which only keeps dirt and water away from the bushing. Most people just replace the rubber seal thinking that it is what controls the leak. Be careful not to damage the new bushing.

In some cases people have simple pushed the drive shaft back into to the housing to snap the o-ring back into the transmission housing and this puts the seal back into place. However this may not always work. Usually people just take it to a dealer who will typically replace the o-rings. Otherwise the whole housing needs to be replaced.

You will need to take it to the garage and have them fix it because of the oil that is in it otherwise you can end up with a mess.

There should be no fluid coming out of the driveshaft. It could be coming from the transmission or the differential. Make sure rear seal is not blown and if it replace it.

Your drive shaft should not be leaking. If you see oil dripping off your driveshaft it is probably coming from your transmission.

There is a seal that will need to be replaced at the end of the shaft. It is usually a good time to replace the boot while at it.

I think you mean leaking CV joint? You can replace the boot on the front axle. In the drive shaft its self they cant leak.

A must replace bushing/seal. The bushings are behind rubber seal. The bushing stops the leak, not rubber seal, it keeps dirt and water from getting in bushing. What I'm getting at is don't just replace rubber seal only. Replace both rubber seal and bushing. Be careful handling the new bushing. You don't want to make a mistake damaging them.

Bushing and seals will have to be replaced, in which is behind rubber seal. The bushing stops leaks and rubber seal keeps dirt or water from the bushing. You'll have to be careful to not damage new bushing while putting it on.
