Cavities is the most common cause of the tooth pain in kids since they have not developed some good habits with brushing their teeth and proper eating habits that can be detrimental.

The pain could be due to the shape and size of the molars. As the surface area of the molar is more,it takes more time to erupt causing pain.

Usually when kids are having pain with six year old molars it is because they are teething and that can always be painful. Second, the molars may be coming in through the gum with a cavity on it that may need to be fixed. I recommend that you make a dentist appointment and get an x-ray.

The molar in a six year sometimes cause pain during eruption as it has a large gum area to penetrate and come into the mouth,may be due to caries.
