What can cause a sore tongue?

My tongue is sore all over.

A sore tongue often results from sloppy dental hygiene. Make sure you brush your teeth and otngue often, floss between teeth in order to reduce bacteria, and use a mouthwash twice daily.

It could be many things. Canker sores or ulcers in your mouth, reumatoid arthritis, or even angina of the heart. Yes it can cause your tonque to be sore not a common place, but a possible place. Any of these are going to need medication to treat so contact a Dr.

Do you have cold sores or canker sores on your tongue? If so, gargling with salt water or using medicated mouthwash while avoiding sugary foods are good tactics to recover.

Your tongue could hurt as a result of a burn. Did you eat something hot that could have burnt your tongue? this could be the reason. otherwise, it may be a cut or cold sore.

Sore tongue can be caused by one of the following things: thrush , which is a type of tongue yeast infection, gingivitis and autoimmune disorder. An irritation in your teeth our mouth can also be the culprit here. Using tools such tongue scrapers and or brushing your tongue very hard have been known to cause a sore tongue also.

Your tongue will hurt if you bite it very hard or if you eat food that was too hot.If your tongue is white you may have a disease such as leukoplakia, oral thrush or oral lichen planus. If the pain in your tounge is ongoing or recurring it could be something very serious such as oral cancer or AIDS.

Just about anything could cause this. You could have been talking to much, eating to much. If you eat to many sunflower seeds the salt could cause soreness.
