You could do a few things to help your foot. Try to stay off it and place either a ice pack or a heat pack onto your foot. Resting is the key here. It should go down in a matter of hours.

You should take Advil or Tylenol to take some of the swelling down. It is also helpful to ice the foot especially if you have sprained it. If the foot remains swollen for more than a couple days you should go see your Doctor.

You can elevate the swollen foot and also place an ice pack on it. After 20 minutes, take the ice pack off and try gain later.
