Usually nothing can be done about a calcified tooth root except for your dentist to extract the tooth so that you don't have problems.

You will have to have a root canal therapy. This procedure, if done right, will take several trips to the dentist as the tooth is will eventually close down and die if not done properly. If you do nothing it will have to eventually have to be pulled.

If the calcified root is painful or there are other problems with the tooth, it can drilled out by a qualified endodontist. Usually, calcified tooth roots are normally a curiosity.

The dentist will still complete the root canal treatment to their best ability, or refer to an endodontist or extract the tooth.
