Academic discipline, the system of thought (which ontologically and epistemologically distinguished the orient) and lastly the projection of power. The projection of power sought to dominate reconstructure,control the orient in order to create discourse that would be at the service of imperial power.

Orientalism can be a type of architecture which imitates eastern architecture or as a musical style that simulates eastern sounds using western instruments.
