What are traditional African-American family roles?

I am African American and I don't really understand your question. What do you mean by traditional? I have both parents, sisters and brothers. I am married with two children and a husband. I work full time as does my husband and we have a wonderful family life.

The oldest female in the family is the person who controls the living arrangements in the household. All African American males in the family must do the financial, It could be Father, Uncle and brother. In making decisions, Male can be a decision maker but it all still depends on the female's decision if she will agree or not.
