The symptoms of herpes found in men are the same as the symptoms found in women. For both sexes, the obvious signs are blistering sores that can appear on the mouth or on the genitals during an outbreak.

During the first outbreak you could get flu like symptoms and will notice blisters at the site where contact occurred (most likely on the genitals). Avoid the disease by avoiding loose women and use condoms.

Herpes Simplex Type 1 is responsible for oral herpes, which shows up in or around mouth. Herpes Simplex Type 2 is responsible for genital herpes and is a sexually transmitted disease. The symptoms of herpes in men include painful itching blisters around genital area and anus, swollen lymph gland in the groin, headaches, muscle aches, fever and lower back pain.

The symptoms of herpes are small, red, inflamed sores in the genital region. Herpes can still pass from person to person even if you are not having an outbreak, so it is best to use protection at all times. Herpes cannot be cured but it can be treated if you have contracted the virus.

The first symptom will usually be itching or tingling in the genital region, followed by a swelling and then red bumps that turn to blisters.

Often, there are no symptoms whatsoever, and it is possible for someone--male or female--to have herpes and not know it. At times, people with herpes can have outbreaks on the mouth or genitals, which look like cold sores. It is very possible for a person to be infected and not have these sores, however. There are no other visible signs.

The symptoms of herpes are the same in both men and women. Herpes start as an itch or tingle, they then progress into red bumps that eventually turn into open sores.
