What are the reasons why your gums hurt after brushing?

Gums may hurt because you brush your teeth too hard. If you suffer from gingevitis, your gums may be inflamed. Proper flossing and brushing will prevent that.

There are many reasons like wrong way of brushing means vertically not horizontally, bristle should be smooth, and brushing should do softly not forcefully or with power, should not brush on gum's...

If your gums hurt after brushing, it's because they are sore. If they only look redder than usual, then you should brush your gums more to stimulate them, and make sure you floss. Without flossing, your gums will be weaker than they should and become sore easily.
