Very few countries these days have rulers who could clearly be called dictators. One would be Kim Jong-Il of North Korea. Burma is governed by a military junta which could be called dictatorial. In the 20th century, notable dictators included Adolf Hitler of Germany and Benito Mussolini of Italy. Stalin and Mao might also be considered dictators.

Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, Fidel Castro and Raul Castro of Cuba, and Kim Jong Il of North Korea are modern dictators. They rule their nations and kill their competition.
