A Utah marriage can be annulled for several reasons, including one party already being married, a divorce not being finalized, lack of parental consent, underage and a few others. An attorney can best determine if annulment is an option and the best way to resolve the matter.

Utah law provides for annulments where the marriage was void when the marriage was made. This would include incest, or where the person was still married etc. Annulments are also also for misrepresentation, fraud, or the failure to consummate the marriage. Courts do not like to annul marriages in Utah, because of Mormons trying to avoid premarital sex and divorce.

Annulment in Utah is similar to other states and should have an attorney involved. One would have to prove the reason for annulment, and it often has to be good. Reasons such as finding out your spouse is already married, finding out they are a relative etc. Annulment would need to be filed on such grounds.
