In Michigan, a minor is automatically emancipated: 1) when married; 2) when reaching age 18; 3) active duty armed forces; So if one of the above applies, you can.

At 16, it is impossible to live on your own. You are not legally able to sign legal documents like a lease and you can't have utilities in your name.

If you have a GOOD reason that you want to leave your parents home and you can prove you can support yourself you can be legally emancipated by the court.

To do this, you will have to go to court and be granted independence. You must stay in school, though.

You would have to go to court and show that you can live on your own, and that your parents are either unfit. If you can show that then they might give you the right to leave your parents home.
