Federal law governs the export and import of firearms from anywhere in the U.S. The Gun Control Act of 1968 limits the export/import of guns to licensed manufacturers, dealers and importers.

Laws about the export and import of weapons is very strict because possession of a weapon without a permit is punishable by law. If imported without the knowledge of the state can easily become the target of murderers, etc.

Domestically, the import of firearms from Miami would vary depending on the destination city or state's laws. Miami's foreign import laws would, I think, be compliant with U.S. standards for importation as would be their exportation laws.

Only authorized gun dealers transport large numbers of weapons from state to state. Individuals will have a hard time boarding a plane with a weapon even with a carry permit.
