Hydrogen is a highly flammable gas, typically obtained by splitting water (H2O) into hydrogen and oxygen. It's very reactive, and is the key ingredient in all acids. When mixed with air it becomes explosive. It's never found as single molecules, but instead exists as the molecule H2. It's a key constituent of most living things.

Hydrogen(Symbol H, atomic number 1). It reacts with metals and forms hydrides, where oxidation state of hydrogen is +1. It shows -1 oxidation state in compounds like hydrogen halides. It forms hydrogen bonds with compounds containing electronegative atoms like Fluorine,Oxygen and Nitrogen. It is used as a reducing agent. It reacte violently with air, Oxygen and halogens.
