Torticollis is known as a head tilt or wry neck that is caused by bacterial infections in the middle or inner ear. The rabbit can develop not only an ear infection but also a respiratory infection as well. If this occurs, take the rabbit to your vet. He or she will drain the ear(s) and prescribe an antibiotic.

Ther are different causes for head tilt or torticollis in rabbits. These affect either your pet's inner ear, nerves, brain, or a combination of sites. It can be caused by nutritional imbalances, bacterial infection, mite infestation, trauma, or toxins. There are some times when a head tilt is a symptom of rare cases like cancer or stroke.

Yes, it is the same thing as the head tilt. It is also known as wry neck. Torticollis is known to occur with no evident cause. It can be inherited, or be caused by damage to the muscles of the nervous system.

The cause is pretty much the same as in humans. Torticollis is provoked by a sudden move of the head that blocks the throat muscles.
