Engineered hard wood can only be refinished and sanded about 3 times. Hardwood can be refinished and repaired for holes more times. How long do you plan to live there?

The benefits of having hard wood is that it normally lasts longer then the manufactured stuff. However Engineered wood tends to be a lot cheaper and easier to put together in the home. Also when using real wood you would need to pay for varnish to keep the floor shiny however manufactured never dulls.

Since hardwood planks are one piece, they can stand up to decades of wear, sanding, and refinishing. Engineered wood, with its thinner hardwood veneer, will wear through sooner. However, engineered wood floors are usually much cheaper, more environmentally friendly, and less susceptible water and heat expansion damage.

Solid hardwood floors will last considerably longer than floors made of engineered wood and they're also much easier to finish and they're available in lengths of 84 inches or more, compared to a maximum of about 49 inches for engineered wood floors.

In the case of hardwood floors,we must cut the wood into planks and should be treated and polished. But in case of engineered wood we can and lay it directly.

Well hardwood is expensive but is also extremely durable and will last for a very long time when properly maintained. Engineered wood is typically cheap, is usually better for the environment, and can also be installed in higher humidity areas.
