I would use liquid pectin because it is already to use and you won't have to worry about forgetting something.

In order to be fully effective pectin must be completely dissolved before being uniformly dispersed in a food. This normally requires copious mixing at a specific temperature. Liquid pectin eliminates this premixing, saving time, effort and resulting in a more uniform product.

Liquid pectin allows you to achieve a softer more tender set than powdered pectin does. Powdered pectin gives a somewhat firmer set to a canned product. Preference is key.

Liquid pectin and powdered pectin are basically the same. Liquid pectin is easier to use for beginners since your measurements will be more precise than with powder. Using too much pectin will result in a grainy texture and using too little will result in a runny product.

There are not really advantages to one versus another. It just depends on which recipe you are making. Usually they require one or the other.
