Try crossword puzzles and other word games at levels more difficult than you are used to. Look up words that are new to you. Do the same with any reading that you do. Underline words to look up in the dictionary and use them in sentences or writing. Play Scrabble.

The quickest way to do this is by selecting a few words (~10) from a dictionary unfamiliar to you and applying them to your daily vocabulary.

Read more difficult literature and look up words you don't understand in the dictionary. Also, if you write, use a thesaurus to replace dull words. Just make sure you use words that make sense and are in their proper context.
